Updating your software

It is best practice to ensure your device remains up to date with the latest software updates in order to maintain both reliability and security.

Follow the appropriate instructions below for your terminal:

 SoftPOS

Updates are distributed through your smartphone's app store. Please ensure you regularly check for updates. We recommend enabling automatic app updates on your device if supported.

 SmartPOS

When connected to a power source, the Castles Saturn 1000 device will periodically check for software updates and install them automatically. Please ensure the device remains connected to the Internet for updates to be downloaded and installed.

 POS

Automatic software updates are pushed out overnight. It is therefore imperative that terminals are left powered on in the charging cradles with a connection to the Internet.  

Should you however need to manually update the software, please follow the below steps:

  1. Select the Menu   button.
  2. Scroll down and select “Administration“.
  3. When prompted, enter the Manager password and tap  .
  4. Select “Software update“.
  5. The terminal will now connect and start updating to the latest release and reboot.
  6. You may need to repeat steps 2 to 4 multiple times to ensure the terminal is fully up to date. Once you have all available updates you will see the message “Your software is up to date”.

 

To view the software version that is applied to your terminal. please follow the below steps:

  1. Select the Quick Menu grid-icon.png button.
  2. Select “Version“.
  3. Compare the App version number with the version number you have been advised.
