Chargebacks search

  This feature is available to merchants using our TRU Connect gateway.

The "Chargebacks" stored search returns all chargebacks that were processed via the TRU Connect gateway.


  Required user roles

Admin, Developer, TransactionUser, ViewFeesAndStatements, ViewTransactionsOnly


  How to access

  2. In the top left, select "Site Reference" and then specify a site reference to search.
  3. From "Stored Searches", select "Chargebacks".
  4. Fill out the rest of the form as necessary. Learn more about searching for transactions.
  5. Select "Search".

  A maximum of 1,000 records can be returned in a search. You can perform larger searches by using the options provided to perform an "Export" rather than an "On screen" search. This will export a file for download.

In the search results returned, each table entry represents a unique chargeback. By default, each chargeback is displayed with the following columns of information:

  To change the columns returned in the search results, select "Advanced" and customise the "Fields" selected from the options presented. Learn more about searching for transactions.

Column name Description
Reference

Uniquely identifies the chargeback on the TRU Connect gateway.

  Select the reference to open the transaction details view. This allows you to view more details on the given chargeback. Learn more about the transaction details view.

Status

A summary of the transaction status.

For chargebacks, the value will always be "Successful" to indicate that a chargeback against the transaction was processed successfully.

Account

The type of account used to process the original transaction:

  • CFT - Cardholder Funds Transfer.
  • ECOM - E-commerce transaction.
  • MOTO - Mail Order Telephone Order transaction.
  • POS - Point Of Sale transaction.
  • RECUR - Recurring transaction.
Request The type of request processed by the gateway. In this view, only "CHARGEBACK" will be shown here.
Payment type The payment method used to process the transaction.
Timestamp

The definition of this timestamp is dependent on the "Date Type" selected in the drop-down at the top right of the page.

The default for this view is "Transaction Started", which means that the date and times shown in the results table represent when the transaction was authorised by the acquiring/issuing bank.

The timezone is shown in brackets (e.g. "GMT").

Currency The currency associated with the transaction (in ISO3A format).
Authorised amount The amount originally authorised for the transaction.
Settle amount The amount settled for the transaction.
Settle status For chargebacks, the value will always be "100 - Settled" unless an error has occurred.
Card number The card number found on the front of the customer's card (masked). Only shown if the customer paid using a credit or debit card.
Order reference The reference assigned to the original transaction by your organisation to help track the order.
Parent The transaction reference that identifies the original transaction against which the chargeback was incurred.
Acquirer Status Description of the chargeback provided by the acquirer.
