Can I turn off two-factor authentication?

  Last updated:

We strongly recommend that you keep two-factor enabled on your MyST account, as it provides additional protection against access from unauthorised users.

Two-factor authentication is required for users that are able to perform administrative actions on your site, or access cardholder data, as mandated in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) v3.2. For this reason it cannot be disabled for the following user roles:

Developer, Developer 2, Site admin, “View only transactions, fees and merchant statements”

To disable two-factor authentication on your MyST account:

  1. Click your profile picture in the upper-left to go to your profile page.

  2. Click the switch next to "Two-factor authentication" on the right. (On smaller displays, the button can be found by scrolling down).

  3. On the prompt displayed, click "Disable".

  4. A confirmation prompt should be displayed to confirm two-factor authentication has been disabled.
