Network best practices

  Last updated:

A stable internet connection is required for the successful operation of our In-Person Payment services. If you are having problems connecting your device to the internet and maintaining the connection, please refer to the guidance below:

Tips to improve network connection

If using the device on a counter, use an ethernet cable connection (CAT-5), if possible.

If using the device away from the counter, always use a Wi-Fi connection, if possible. Only use mobile data as a last resort.

We recommend keeping the device on a separate Wi-Fi network to other devices that may interfere with your connection.

Ensure a minimum connection speed of 1 Mbps.
10 Mbps or higher is recommended.

Avoid obstacles between device and router such as walls, floors, windows, mirrors and pipes as these can weaken or block the Wi-Fi signal.

If using a mesh network, try connecting directly to the router with an ethernet cable if your device supports it.

Wi-Fi router configuration

If you are still having problems connecting to Wi-Fi, please ask your network administrator to check the router configuration:

  • Ensure traffic is permitted through ports 11183 and 11186.
  • Ensure your router is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n standards.
  • We recommend connecting using a 2.4GHz connection, if possible.
  • If you have Geo IP location services enabled on your network, please ensure that traffic from Czech Republic (CZ) is permitted, as some of our terminal transactions are processed through servers located in this region.
If you need help configuring your router, please seek support from the router manufacturer.
