The device will always connect to a known Wi-Fi network when in range and if Wi-Fi is enabled in settings, falling back to mobile data when Wi-Fi is not available. Therefore, to force the device to switch to a mobile data connection, you must manually disable Wi-Fi in the settings, as described below:

  1. From the main screen, tap "Settings".
  2. Enter the "Manager Passcode" and tap
  3. Tap "System Settings" then "Network Settings".
  4. From the Network & internet page displayed, tap "Wi-Fi".
  5. Disable the "Use Wi-Fi" option.

Providing you have already followed the instructions to setup the connection via the SIM card, disabling the Wi-Fi connection will force your device to fall back to mobile data.
