Advanced search criteria
Click the "Advanced" button to open an overlay that allows you to specify additional search criteria.
Filters are an advanced tool that can be used to narrow the search results further if needed. Only transactions meeting the selected criteria will be displayed in the results.
From the left of the overlay, click "Filters" to expand this section.
From the options now visible, you can expand sub-headings and select different filters to apply. Sub-headings that contain applied filters are highlighted with a green number icon to represent the number of filters applied.
e.g. In the example below, Currency (ISO3a) is shown with "2" to indicate there are two currency filters applied from that sub-heading - in this case, "GBP" and "USD". This means that the subsequent search will only return transactions processed in those two selected currencies.
You can customise the columns shown in the search results table. Only the fields ticked under the “Fields” section are included in the search results.
From the left of the overlay, click "Fields" to expand this section. From the options now visible, you can select different fields to be shown in the search results. Sub-headings that contain selected fields are highlighted with a green number icon to represent the number of fields that will be shown in the search output.
e.g. In the example below, Transaction Details is shown with "9" to indicate that 9 fields from that sub-heading will be shown as columns in the search output. Deselecting “Payment type” and “Settle amount” would remove these columns from the search results (decrementing the number shown to "7").
Click "Apply" when done to close the overlay. (Click "Cancel" to discard your changes)
When ready to perform a search, click "Search".
The transactions that match the specified criteria are shown in the table. You can further filter the results by typing into the search box found in the upper-right of the search results.
You can click the table headers to change the sorting. Or click the icons on any given column to move columns left and right, hide them from view or freeze to keep columns visible when scrolling left and right.
Click the transaction reference (left-most column) to view further details on a transaction.
All transactions shown are assigned one of the following statuses:
The funds have been settled into your merchant account.
|Settling||Transfer of funds in progress.|
|Pending||Transaction was successful and the funds are awaiting settlement.
You do not need to take any further action.
||The same as “Pending” as described above, but fraud and duplicate checks have been manually overridden.|
|Suspended||Transaction was authorised by the issuing and acquiring banks, but has been suspended.
This transaction will not complete unless action is taken.
You can view transaction details to establish further information, and perform an update to either cancel, or allow transaction to continue.
|Cancelled||Transaction has been cancelled.
Any reserved funds will be released to the customer.
|Decline||Transaction was declined by the acquiring/issuing bank.|
|Error||Transaction failed due to an error.
You can view transaction details to establish further information.
Once the issue has been resolved, the request would need to be re-sent.
You can use the drop-down box found at the top-left of the results table to change how many results are displayed per page. The total number of records shown can be found in the lower-left of the table.
Export search results
After performing the search, you can click the "Export" button above the table to download a record of the search results. Downloaded files can be used to import the data into your own system or open in your spreadsheet software of choice.
When exporting search results, you are prompted to specify the format of the file to be downloaded from the following options:
- CSV file - Download a CSV file delimited by either comma (,), semi-colon (;) or pipe (|).
- XLSX file.
Files are downloaded in the background, so you can continue to use Portal while you wait.
