Payment Processing Analysis

The "Payment Processing Analysis" page examines payment processing data to display valuable information regarding approvals/declines, card types used, chargebacks and refunds processed for hotels in your chain.

You can use the tabs found along the top of the page to switch between different views: "Approvals and Declines", "Card Type", "Chargebacks" and "Refunds":

Approvals and Declines

Approvals and Declines Summary

The table presented lists the total number of approvals and declines processed at your hotels and the rate at which declines occur.

You will need to use the radio buttons provided to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the table between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

For each hotel, the following information is shown:

  • Merchant Name - The hotel name.
  • Region - The UK region in which the hotel resides.
  • Number of Approvals - The number of approved transactions processed at the given hotel.
  • Number of Declines - The number of transactions declined at the given hotel.
  • Approval Ratio - A percentage representing the number of approvals compared to declines. e.g. 0% means all transactions were declined. 100% means all transactions were approved.

 


 

Proportion of Reasons given for Declines

The pie chart presented shows the proportion allocated to each reason provided by the issuing bank for declining transactions processed at the hotel selected.

Start by using the radio buttons to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the pie chart between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

Then select one of your hotels from the drop-down box provided.

 


 

Approvals and Declines over Time

The stacked bar chart presented shows the number of approvals processed at the selected hotel using light blue bars. The number of declines is represented by the darker blue bars that are stacked directly above the light blue bars. Refer to the vertical axis on the left to ascertain the respective number of approvals and declines.

A pink trend line is overlayed onto this chart to show the approval rate. Refer to the vertical axis on the right to ascertain the percentages shown by the trend line.

Start by selecting the frequency of data to be displayed in the bar chart. If you select "Daily", each bar shown will reflect a different day of transactional data. With "Weekly" selected, each bar would represent one week and "Monthly" would see each bar represent one month.

Next, select one of your hotels from the drop-down box provided.

Finally, click and drag the slider to choose the date range to be included in the search. The selected timeframe is shown in green.

 

Accordion Card Type

Card Type Summary

The table presented lists the total number of payments processed by each card type at each of your hotels.

You will need to use the radio buttons provided to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the table between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

For each hotel, the following information is shown:

  • Merchant Name - The hotel name.
  • Region - The UK region in which the hotel resides.
  • Card type - The card type used by the customer to process the payment (e.g. "Visa").
  • Transaction Amount - The total amount processed at the given hotel using the given card type.
  • Number of Approvals - The number of approved transactions processed at the given hotel using the given card type.
  • Number of Declines - The number of transactions declined at the given hotel using the given card type.
  • Approval Ratio - A percentage representing the number of approvals processed at the given hotel using the given card type compared to declines. e.g. 0% means all transactions were declined. 100% means all transactions were approved.

The pie chart presented shows the proportion allocated to each card type used by the customer to process transactions at the given hotel.

Start by using the radio buttons to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the pie chart between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

Then select one of your hotels from the drop-down box provided.

 


 

Transaction Amount (GBP) by Card Type over Time

The stacked bar chart presented shows the number of transactions processed at the selected hotel with each card type represented by a different coloured bar.

Start by selecting the frequency of data to be displayed in the bar chart. If you select "Daily", each bar shown will reflect a different day of transactional data. With "Weekly" selected, each bar would represent one week and "Monthly" would see each bar represent one month.

Next, select one of your hotels from the drop-down box provided.

Finally, click and drag the slider to choose the date range to be included in the search. The selected timeframe is shown in green.

 

Chargebacks

The table presented lists the total number of chargebacks incurred against transactions processed at your hotels and the rate at which they occur.

You will need to use the radio buttons provided to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the table between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

For each hotel, the following information is shown:

  • Merchant Name - The hotel name.
  • Region - The UK region in which the hotel resides.
  • Chargebacks Amount - The total amount incurred by chargebacks at the given hotel.
  • Number of Chargebacks - The number of chargebacks incurred at the given hotel.
  • Chargeback % of Transactions - A percentage representing the number of chargebacks incurred when compared to the total number of transactions processed at the given hotel. e.g. 0% means no transactions incurred a chargeback. 20% means 20% of transactions incurred a chargeback.

The pie chart presented shows the proportion allocated to each description given for chargebacks incurred at the hotel selected.

Start by using the radio buttons to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the pie chart between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

Then select one of your hotels from the drop-down box provided.

 


 

Chargebacks Over Time

Refunds

You will need to use the radio buttons provided to adjust the timeframes encompassed by the table between the options "Yesterday", "1 Week", "1 Month", "3 Months" and "12 Months".

For each hotel, the following information is shown:

  • Merchant Name - The hotel name.
  • Region - The UK region in which the hotel resides.
  • Refund Amount - The total amount refunded at the given hotel.
  • Number of Refunds - The number of refunds processed at the given hotel.
  • Refund to Transactions (%) - A percentage representing the number of refunds when compared to the total number of transactions processed at the given hotel. e.g. 0% means no transactions were refunded. 20% means 20% of transactions were refunded.
