Tipping must be enabled on the device before tipping options will be shown. Learn how to enable tipping.
If tips have been enabled in the app, the customer will be prompted to select from the pre-defined list of tip amounts before they complete the purchase (or they can tap "Other amount" to enter a custom tip value). Alternatively, they can tap "I pass" to pay without a tip.
After the transaction amount has been entered and submitted, the device will prompt the user to enter the tip amount:
- If adding a tip, type the amount using the on-screen keyboard and tap to continue.
- If declining a tip, simply tap without entering a tip to continue.
- To clear the entered tip, tap . This allows the user to correct a mistake.
- To cancel and return to the previous screen, tap
The customer can now present their card and complete the sale.
After the transaction amount has been entered and submitted, the device will prompt the user to select from a list of tipping options:
- If adding a tip:
- Select either "5%", "10%" or "15%" to apply those tip options.
- The user can also tap "Custom" to enter a custom tip amount using the keypad. Press the green "OK" button on the keypad to apply the tip.
- If declining a tip, simply tap on screen without selecting one of the options to continue.
The customer can now present their card and complete the sale.
