The Authorisations view provides comprehensive insights into your payment authorisation performance, helping you understand approval rates, decline patterns, and geographic distribution of transaction attempts. This section breaks down the various components and metrics available in this view.

 

Number / Value of Authorisations

  Line Chart

This chart displays the total number or value of authorised transactions over your selected time period, helping you track payment trends.

  • Y Axis: Transaction count or value.
  • X Axis: Time period (based on your selected date grouping: day/week/month).

Number / Value of Authorisations Comparison

  Figures

This compares authorisation numbers or values for the current time period with equivalent data from the previous time period (based on your selected date grouping: day/week/month). The difference in values is also shown as a percentage.

Yearly Number / Value of Authorisations Comparison

This compares authorisation numbers or values for the current time period with equivalent data from the same time period in the previous year (based on your selected date grouping: day/week/month). The difference in values is also shown as a percentage.

Number / Value of Authorisations By Response Code

  Pie Chart

This chart breaks down authorisation numbers or values by response code over time, helping you understand which outcomes contribute most to your transaction activity.

  • Segments: Each response code (approved, declined reasons, etc.).

Number / Value of Authorisations By Response Code And Decline Rate

  Stacked Bar / Line Chart Combo

This chart combines authorisation breakdown with decline rate trends, providing comprehensive insight into both absolute performance and success rates.

  • Y Axis (Bar Chart): Represents the number / value of authorisations.
    • Approved authorisations are represented by the green segment at the bottom of the stack.
    • Declined authorisations are represented by the red segments at the top of the stack.
  • Y Axis (Line Chart): Decline rate shown as a percentage when comparing declined authorisations to the total.
  • X Axis: Time period (based on your selected date grouping: day/week/month).

The decline rate shows the percentage of declined authorisations compared to total authorisations. The calculation is based on your "I want to See" selection:

  • If Value is selected: Percentage of declined transaction value vs total transaction value.
  • If Number is selected: Percentage of declined transaction count vs total transaction count.

  • X Axis: Time period (based on your selected date grouping: day/week/month).

This world map shows the geographic distribution of authorisation numbers or values based on card issuing country, helping you understand which markets generate the most activity. Countries are shaded depending on the rate of authorisations processed:

  • Deeper shades = higher authorisation numbers / values.
  • Lighter shades = lower authorisation numbers / values.
