How it works

The customer follows instructions displayed on a self-service kiosk and inserts / taps their credit / debit card into the card reader.
Visa and Mastercard are currently supported (including digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay).

In certain customer journeys, a pre-authorisation is processed. This step reserves a specified amount on the customer's account, ensuring sufficient funds are available to complete the transaction after products or services are received.
Pre-authorisation is commonly used for services like EV charging, where the value of the charge isn't known until the purchase has been completed. The amount reserved can be configured to suit the specific type of transaction being performed. Click here to learn more.

When the final amount is known, this will be presented to the customer on the screen and their card will be charged automatically. Any excess reserved funds from the pre-authorisation will be released back to the customer. It is at this stage that a receipt will be printed and/or an email will be sent to the customer as proof-of-purchase.
